Scott #8. AFA #8.
Eight skillings green with wavy lines in spandrels, issue of 1858, a
superb vertical strip of four stamps with clear margins on all sides,
fresh colour, and in perfect condition. The four stamps are cancelled by
a three-ring numeral cancellation, which is struck fairly lightly.
Multiples of this stamp are very scarce. The AFA catalogue quotes a
factor of 10x for a strip of four. Accompanied by a certificate of
authenticity by Lasse Nielsen, 1992 which states that it is genuine and
entirely without repairs. A rare item, and a great addition to any
Danish classics collection. |
