Cathedral of St. George 6 guerches, surcharged in black bilingually "1 guerche", Superb. mint and never hinged block of ten stamps, the fourth stamp showing the variety missing "ch" in "guerche". The Scott catalogue net retail value for ten hinged single stamps is US$ 800.00. Three premiums apply: the multiple, never hinged, and the variety. Excellent block, difficult to replicate. $ 1,200.00
67481 ** Scott #149, 152. Rev. Eric Payne's listing #E145 (a). Cathedral of St. George 6 guerches orange and ultramarine, surcharged in black bilingually "1 guerche" three times. A single surcharge of the four character Ahmeric, inverted, and two strikes of the seven character surcharge. A mint and Never Hinged Superb block of eight stamps with sheet margin at top. In addition, the lower right stamp of the block shows the variety three characters instead of four, R of Guerche missing (Payne variety 151a). An exceptional and scarce multiple. Probably only 50 or 100 examples of this stamp were printed. The exact quantity is unknown.The missing R variety is almost certainly unique. $ 1,100.00
