Very attractive and scarce items (2). 560.00
QUEEN ON THRONE -CAMPBELL STONE "3".
226040 (*) Stanley Gibbons #19b. Two pence blackish purple-brown "Queen on Throne" from a lithographic transfer by Campbell, from STONE 3. A large and Very Fine mint example with a trace of original gum. Very rare unused stamp, in fact, after studying this issue for several years, this is the only example which has come to our attention. Others may exist, but it is certainly Very Rare. QUEEN ON THRONE -CAMPBELL & FERGUSON STONE "A".
{short description of image} 226182 (*) Stanley Gibbons #36b. Scott #16a variety. Two pence "Queen on Throne" lithographed by Campbell and Ferguson from new stones without wear (STONE A), in a shade of purple brown, and showing the amazing variety "TVO" instead of "TWO" which arose due to a creased transfer which reduced the size of the stamp in position YB (#48) in the plate. The stamp has complete margins, very large on two sides, adequate on the other two. There is a very small thin spot. A Very Rare stamp, ex-Green collection, and accompanied by a Peter Holcombe certificate of authenticity. A sensational opportunity to acquire a very seldom seen or offered stamp. Stanley Gibbons 2009 catalogue quotes GBP 1,000.00, which is about US$ 1,700.00. 1,250.00
